Booking questions

How do I find a place to stay on the Great Lakes?

Start with the lake you plan to drive. Each lake page lists the shoreline towns with published places to stay, and every town page groups the properties by type so you can tell a resort from a cottage, an inn or a campground at a glance.

Can I book a stay through TheGreatLakes.ca?

No. We do not take bookings. Our partner buttons open a search for the town on a booking site, and the booking itself is made with the property or that partner. We may earn a commission when you book through those links, at no cost to you.

Do you list every hotel and motel in a town?

No. The counts on each page show what is published here right now, drawn from our partner directory of independent businesses. Chain hotels and holiday rentals without a listing are usually absent, so a town can have more places to stay than we show.

When is the best time to book?

Summer weekends fill first on all five lakes. Late spring and early autumn are quieter and often easier to arrange at short notice, while winter openings depend on the town and on the individual property.
