A REGIONAL POINT OF VIEW
Five lakes.
Countless ways to explore.
An independent guide to the shorelines, communities, experiences and local businesses of the Great Lakes region.
Built around the lakes.
TheGreatLakes.ca is part of a growing local-business and regional travel network with ShopLocal.website, MuskokaOntario.com and CentralOntario.ca.
Our aim is simple: make it easier to discover the region and support the people who work here. We bring together shoreline guides, trip ideas, attractions, events and business profiles from Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
The land we write about.
The Great Lakes are the homelands of many Indigenous Nations, including the Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Wendat, whose relationships with these waters continue today in Canada and the United States. We aim to share Indigenous history and places accurately and respectfully, and we welcome guidance and corrections from First Nations, Métis and Tribal Nations. Read our introduction to the First Peoples of the Great Lakes.
Independent, transparent and useful.
